Where?

For our Patagonia Adventure Retreat, we will meet in the capital city of Argentina…Buenos Aires. From there we will fly down to El Calafate, the gateway to the mountains of Patagonia. From there we will cross the border into Chile to Puerto Natales before entering the Torres Del Paine National Park to begin our trek. After we finish our incredible hike of the famous O or W circuit, we will return to Argentina and head to the treking capital of Argentina, El Chaten. Here we will pack in more adventures taking in even more hikes in the incredible Patagonia area. After completing our trip in Patagonia, we will return to Buenos Aires.

What?

We have created a unique adventure retreat to Patagonia that offers adventure, culture and hiking to our community! This trip will include a cultural experience in Argentina’s capital city Buenos Aires.

We have designed this trip to include two options to be able to give this experience to as many people as possible. Those with more hiking experience can opt for the O circuit, while those looking for a softer adventure can opt for the W circuit. Details follow below. Both groups with be together during our time in Buenos Aires, El Calafate, Puerto Natales and El Chaten sharing the experience at each persons own place. The groups will only be separated during the circuit hikes of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile section of the trip. We have included Glacier hikes, Kayaking, trekking and rock climbing in this awesome experience.

Retreat Options!

We are offering two options! The O and the W circuit in Torres Del Paine.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SELECTING YOUR CHOICE!

O circuit: 130km/81 miles, 7600m/24,300f of elevation gain over 6 days. 1 night spent in tents, the rest of the nights in Cabins in bunkbeds in dormitory style accommodations. Rooms sleep 2-6 people. You MUST have previous hiking experience for this trip and be comfortable carrying some weight on your back. All your bedding and camping supplies are provided as well as your meals but you must bring your clothes (be prepared for all 4 seasons), toiletries and snacks. You MUST be comfortable hiking 30km in one day as our 2 day will be this long. You MUST be able to prove to us previous hiking experience. While the trail is not technically challenging on most days, the accumulated distance adds up and if you are not experienced you will find this very difficult. There are three mountain passes we must climb, incredible views, stunning glaciers and lakes and so much more.

W circuit: This is your softer adventure option. The trail is 75km/47m and 4000m/12,800f over the 6 days. There is two nights of camping in eco-dome style accommodations (you still sleeping in a bed). All other nights will be spent in cabins in bunkbeds in dormitory style accommodations. Rooms sleep 2-6 people. Your longest hike is 20km. All other days are between 10-15km. Previous hiking experience is preferred as you will need to carry your own clothes (be prepared for all 4 seasons) and personal items. All food and bedding is supplied.

Both trips will run at the same time and each option will include RLAG staff!

Q: What’s the best airport to fly into and how do I book the best deal?
A: We are flying into Buenos Aires and meeting the group from there. I recommend looking at lots of different flight options before booking. I always recommend the shortest amount of travel time versus the cheapest flight!

Q: I’m over 50, am I too old for this retreat? The women in your photos look very young.
A: The typical age range of women who attend these retreats is 20 – 40, however we have had women 50-65 years old come. We create a loving, inclusive environment no matter your age. What’s more important for your safety and comfort is your physical condition. These retreats, although a challenge by choice motto, are very active and we will be immersed in the natural elements. Are you able to hike multiple days in a row? Are you able to kayak? Are you open minded to try out adventure activities? What does your body say? If you need a more gentle retreat this may not be the right experience for you.

Q: Will there be free time?
A: Yes! Free time is very important and we want you to be able to curl up and relax, read a book, or take time to journal and take in all your experiences from the day.

Q: I want to come, but I’m concerned about the cost. Do I have options?
A: Our retreat is unique and a rare experience. You will be travelling somewhere that not many people get the opportunity to go to. We have made the retreat as affordable as possible. We offer customized payment plans and break the full payment up into 3 parts. A nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your spot and we will do two additional payments before the retreat starts.

Q: I’m still not sure. Can I contact you with questions?
A: Please!! I am even open to talking on the phone!! Sometimes getting your question out by talking is the best way! Send me an email..Hailey@runlikeagirl.ca
