We will always strive to make those interactions and purposes POSITIVE and as positively impactful as possible.
From our events to our experiences. Our events donate $5.00 per entry to a non profit in our communities that are helping others, our experiences do the same... they donate $50.00 per entry to GIRL IN THE WILD.
Now we can take it one step further and say that what is left over... is not left over... it's actually more to share! Read the story below!
This is Vera… I met her early last month on a Friday morning in my driveway. She was carrying 5 large bags filled with cans, bottles and recyclable cartons. As she headed to look through our recycling bin I remembered that I had a few bags in the garage.
Her big smile caught mine and I said “I have some more for you I’ll be right back.” She was very excited.
As I handed her some bags she told me that her and her sister collect cans and bottles and with the money they feed unhoused people every Saturday afternoon.
She was so grateful, we had to quickly head off for school but when I returned home there was a handwritten note at my door thanking me for my kindness.
Every Friday since I have connected with Vera offering more recycling and or any food donations I have.
After Live Love Run this past weekend we had some loaves of bread, chips, cookies and buns leftover. Our event season is done and we truly know there are others in our communities who need food. I am happy to share that what was unused was not wasted and though small it’s a simple act of kindness it goes along way!
