CLUB GUIDELINES & RULES
All of the approved group movement clubs will be hosting within the following guidelines:
- Clearly stated and communicated is the following:
1. Expected movement pace is stated.
- If the stated meet up says all paces welcome, the leader(s) must ensure that they have sufficient leadership to care and tend to all paces.
- Look for other pace descriptions such as, beginner friendly, 5-6min/km running pace on flat surfaces, 7-10min/km paces etc.
2. Gear required to join the meet up.
- Do you need trail running shoes, water, a backpack, food, layers etc.
3. Exact meet up location, parking instructions, a map of the route, gpx files and description of route is shared.
4. Date and time of meet up are stated. If this is a one time meet up or weekly etc.
5. The leader is first aid certified.
- Seriously yes. This is very important.
6. You will be signing a waiver to participate.
- Leaders, yes you need to have participants sign a waiver before the first time they join you.
7. Land acknowledgement is stated.
- On registration sites, websites or socials. We respect and acknowledge all land that we play, work and live on.
8. Any land use permits have been approved.
- Depending on group sizes and if this becomes a cost to the participant group meet up, some locations will require a permit.
9. You are given a brief of what to do in the case that you are injured or lost along the way.
- Leaders will provide this information to you before either via email, post or in person.
10. No one is to be left behind.
11. There are enough movement leaders on site to work with the different paces/experience levels that join the meet up.
- Depending on the pre set pace expectations of the group and group size.
12. You are welcomed upon arrival/start of meet up. The group leader shares their name and experience.
13. Movement leaders are familiar with the area in which they are taking you. They are aware of possible risks, they are leading you within their scope of capabilities.
14. There is a check-in and check-out system.
- Group leaders will head count and check everyone in before the group heads out and there will be a head count or a type of check-out system at the end. This ensures no one is lost or left behind.
