Event Information
The Canyon to Coast Event has been created to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and to showcase the incredible Fraser River, Cheam Mountain Range and Chilliwack's surrounding landscapes. It is a family friendly event!
Note this is not a chip timed event, however we do track finish times at the finish line manually via bib number.
Community, support and celebration this is what our events are all about. We believe that we can change peoples lives with those three elements. Help us support local organizations that are doing amazing things for others!
Local Event:
Join us at our local event starting and finishing at Island 22 Regional Park in Chilliwack on June 7th, 2025. Less than 5 km from Chilliwack’s historic downtown.
Registration Includes:
- A $5.00 donation to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library
- All participants receive a finisher’s medal!
- Finish line food/party.
- Aid Stations.
- Event bib number.
- Timing (not chip)
- 1,2,3 over all finisher awards & prizes from Garrison Running Co.
- An epic day on the trails.
- A super duper marked course and lots of fun!

- You choose to run a marathon, 21km, 11k or 4km distance.

COURSE INFORMATION
Start and Finish Line:
Island 22 Regional Park - 44955 Cartmell Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2P 0C8
Main Beach Area
Island 22 Park and the Canyon to Coast Trail showcase the beautiful landscapes of Chilliwack. Our event routes are mainly flat with a mix of farm roads and urban style wide path trails. Our course is going to take you alongside the Fraser River, through farm lands and if your doing the marathon, all the way to the Agassiz Bridge. You are going to be looking at the Cheam Mountain Range while running east and north of us is Minto Island. Views to the southeast sweep across verdant farmland to the dramatic soaring Cascade Mountain range in the distance.
We have a Marathon 42km route, a Half Marathon 21k route, an 11km route and or a 4km route to choose from.
Our Marathon Route is an out and back to the Agassiz Bridge, the 21km and 11km routes are also out and back courses. The 4km route loops through the trails within Island 22.
We welcome all paces and highly recommend this flat stunning course as a first Marathon or Half Marathon. OR for those looking to get a speedy time.

- The 42km route follows urban dike trails with about 7km total on farm roads. There is a total of 250m elevation gain and loss.

Why We Made This Event
Join us in the beautiful Island 22 Regional Park. Island 22 is home to urban trails, which connect to the Canyon to Coast trail system. We have created a route that runs along the Canyon to Coast trail following along side the Fraser River. Your views are going to embrace the river, surrounding mountains including the Cheam Range, farm lands and wildlife.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library - A Free Book Gifting Program
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Canada is a free book gifting program devoted to inspiring a love of reading in young children. In partnership with local community partners, enrolled children receive monthly, a high quality, age-appropriate book in the mail, free of charge.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
TRAIL ETIQUETTE
- We highly encourage you to throw out a HIGH FIVE, a WAY TO GO, GOOD JOB, or a PAT ON THE BACK to other runners!
- Majority of this course is an out and back.
- We also highly recommend that you give a high five and a thanks to all of our volunteers, this event wouldn't be possible without them!
- We have a leave no trace policy, no garbage or any items that we have brought in are to be left behind.
- We are all out there giving it our all and supporting each other!
- If you wish to listen to music while running please only put in one ear or keep your music low, you need to be able to hear others around you for your and others safety.
- Island 22 Regional Park and the Canyon to Coast Trail is a popular destination for trail users. We ask that you respectfully share the trail with all users.
- We are sharing the trails with bikes, walkers, runners and possibly horseback riders.
- Dogs are allowed in the park on leash, or in the large off leash dog area. This is strictly enforced. Dogs are not allowed to participate or run with you on the trails during this event.
PACKAGE PICKUP
Event day morning at the start/finish line, June 7, 2025 from 7:00am to 9:30am
- There are only 200 participant spots available for 2025
- RLAG Swag will be for sale at the start/finish line.
- We will have draw prizes from Valhalla Pure Outfitters and other sponsors.
- There are outhouses located at the start/finish location.
- We have a kids zone tent set up with fun games and activities!
- Our event is CUPLESS please carry a reusable cup with you to grab water, F2C electrolyte nutrition or cola from our aid station.
- Our Aid Stations will be stocked with, F2C Nutrition Drink Mix, Water, Chips, Pickles, Watermelon, Bananas, Oranges, Cookies, Pretzels and Candies.
TIMING
We are committed to your having an empowering positive experience at our events. Our events are hosted with timing via a timing app. Results are shared post event.
AWARDS & SWAG
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall for each distance receive a special medal.
- RLAG swag will be for sale at the event.
- All finishers receive a custom event medal.
- All participants are eligible for our draw prizes donated from event sponsors.
PARKING INFO
Please note there is limited parking at the park and we really like to encourage carpooling as much possible as this is also a public park where others will be enjoying the area.
