Community, support and celebration this is what our events are all about. We believe that we can change peoples lives with those three elements. Help us support local organizations that are doing amazing things for others!
Join us in the beautiful trails of Rolley Lake Provincial Park in support of the Mission Search and Rescue Team. We know the importance of outdoor education and being prepared when heading outdoors. We strive to educate others about the risks and how to be prepared when outdoors, through this event.
Did you know that it takes an average of 8 hours for a SAR Team to reach you once you have called for help in the mountains?!
In support of the Mission SAR Team we are hosting an 8 hour loop event. You can do one lap, go for 2 hours or 5 hours... you choose what distance and or time is best for you. For those of you looking to go long or far you have 8 hours to complete as many laps as possible. You can walk, hike, run... join us for the fun on this loop course!
"We currently have over twenty members and our team grows larger every year. We are a strong network of volunteering professionals. All funds for new equipment and training is acquired by fundraising projects and the support of local service groups, government funding programs, and the generous support of our community.
With more people venturing out to enjoy the outdoors around Mission, the number of calls managed by MSAR has increased. We practice four times per month, year round through both the Justice Institute of B.C. and in-house training, to keep our skills sharp in rope rescue, swiftwater rescue, first aid, search techniques, and much more, to ensure we are prepared for anything, employing our motto of being Dedicated and Ready!"
