Event Information
Join us in beautiful Sun Peaks. Home to world class ski runs, mountain bike trails, incredible hiking and running trails and a big Canada Day weekend of festivities. We have created three routes that showcase the best of Sun Peaks.
Local Event
Register and join us at our event starting and finishing in the Main Village at Sun Peaks Resort, BC on June 28, 2025.
Registration Includes:
- A $5.00 donation to the Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society.
- All participants receive a finisher medal and a custom finishers cup!
- Finish line food/party.
- Aid Stations.
- Event bib number.
- Timing (not chip)
- 1,2,3 over all finisher awards.
- An epic day on the trails.
- A super duper marked course and lots of fun!
- There will be draw prizes from of our donors and sponsors! (see list at bottom of the page)
- You choose to run a 50k, 28k or 15km distance.
- There is a limit of 400 participants for 2025
- Registration closes when we reach 400 participants or June 20, 2025.
- A discount code to book your stay at The Sun Peaks Grand Hotel will be sent to participants after they have booked the event registration.
- 50% off discount codes for the Sunburst Express Chair Lift will be sent to participants after registration.
COURSE INFORMATION
Start and Finish Line:
Sun Peaks Main Village - Base of the Sunburst Express Chair Lift. 3150 Creekside Way, Sun Peaks, BC, Canada, V0E 5N0
All of distances are going to be encountering ascending, technical trails, mountain bike trails, forest service road type of trails, meadows and forests and don't forget you have to come back down some fun descents!
The 50km route is going to wind you all the way up to the top of Mount Tod a summit of 2130m before taking you across to Orient Hill. From here you head down to Little McGillivray Lake before your final mountain, Mount Morrisey. This 50km route covers all three mountains in Sun Peaks.
The 28km route is jam packed! It is going to wind you all the way up to the top of Mount Tod a summit of 2130m before taking you back down to the Sunburst Express. From here you head back down to the start and finish line via the Valley View Trail which lives under some of the chair lifts.
The 15km route is also a fun little jam packed Sun Peaks experience! It is going to wind you all the way up to the top of the Sunburst Express. From here you head back down to the start and finish line via the Valley View Trail which lives under some of the chair lifts. Views for days!

Why We Made This Event
Top Of The World Event has been created to support the Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society and to showcase the incredible community and trails that Sun Peaks has to offer. This is a family friendly event! Your registration includes a finishers swag, a $5.00 donation to Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society, your event bib, finish line food and lots of fun!
Community, support and celebration this is what our events are all about. We believe that we can change peoples lives with those three elements. Help us support local organizations that are doing amazing things for others!
Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society
This non-profit organisation was created to raise money for equipment, training and resources for first responders and locals living within the local area. The purposes set out in its constitution are as follows:
- Fundraise on behalf of the Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society for the local community of Sun Peaks.
- Purchase medical and rescue related equipment that can be used by first responders and the local community both during emergencies and for training purposes.
- Make sure all equipment directly benefits and can be accessed by all first responders and locals within Sun Peaks.
- Raise awareness and support to all first responder training within the local community.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
TRAIL ETIQUETTE
- We highly encourage you to throw out a HIGH FIVE, a WAY TO GO, GOOD JOB, or a PAT ON THE BACK to other runners.
- We also highly recommend that you give a high five and a thanks to all of our volunteers, this event wouldn't be possible without them!
- We have a leave no trace policy, no garbage or any items that we have brought in are to be left behind.
- We are a cupless event. Bring something to drink out of at aid stations!
- Listening to music while on trail is not recommended.
- Sun Peaks is a hub and popular place for mountain bike riding, running and hiking. We ask that you respectfully share the paths and trails with all users.
- Dogs are allowed in the park on leash, or in the large off leash dog area. This is strictly enforced. Dogs are not allowed to participate or run with you on the trails during this event.
- There are only 400 participant spots available for 2025
- RLAG Swag will be for sale at the start/finish line.
- We will have draw prizes from Valhalla Pure Outfitters and other sponsors.
- There are washrooms located at the start/finish location.
- We have a kids zone tent set up with fun games and activities!
- Our event is CUPLESS please carry a reusable cup with you to grab water, F2C electrolyte nutrition or cola from our aid station.
- Our Aid Stations will be stocked with, F2C Nutrition Drink Mix, Water, Chips, Pickles, Watermelon, Bananas, Oranges, Cookies, Pretzels and Candies.
- Accommodation discount code will be shared to all participants after registration to book a stay for the weekend at The Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre.

TIMING
We are committed to your having an empowering positive experience at our events. Our events are hosted with timing via a timing app. Results are shared post event.
PARKING INFO
Please note there is lots of parking available in the P2 Parking lot at Sun Peaks.
DROP BAGS
The 50km runners will be allowed one drop bag to aid station # 3 - about 27kms into your event. All drop bags must be dropped off on Friday June 27 at package pickup. Drop bags should be roughly the size of a drawstring bag.
CREW
- Crew and spectators are allowed and encouraged to visit the Aid Station at the top of the Sunburst Express. A 50% of lift discount code will be shared to all participants after registration.

GEAR
- Poles are allowed in this event. We ask that you respect space in the begging and open them up when there is space from other participants.
- Trail running shoes are a must!
- Running packs/hydration vests are a must. You must be able to carry a minimum of 1 litre of water with you.
- Dressing for the weather, in athletic clothing.
